Malmo Ultrabowl Redux

Skreech made it to the Semis - close but no cigar - here's a few photos the man from O.M.S.A (aka "Dietsches") sent me:

Check out his blog for all things EuroSkate:

And be on he lookout for the upcoming "Dual Pool" event they will hold in September in Dusseldorf (that's in Germany in case you're geographically retarded):

Anyway back to the UltraBowl - Quicksilver is in the midst of a "financial restructuring" so they did not sponsor the event this year - three words for corporate non-skate companies: GLOBAL ECONOMIC DOWNTURN - no one is buying $40"artist edition" T's, $70 sweat shop shoes and $75 "moisture management" jeans anymore....just another example of a surf/wannabe skate company bailing out as soon as skating doesn't generate enough earnings per share....? You decide.
The nice thing is no one really seemed to notice they weren't there - there was 7,000Euros in prize money, sunny (mostly) skies, a ton of ripping skaters and a great pool - who needs "moisture management"....? Congrats to Benji Galloway on yet another big win - gotta' love that exchange rate from Euro to $ - that buys about 1.4X as many PBRs here as it does in Malmo.....!!
