Visalia locals Dale,Scott,Tim Garner and Tom Knox rolled out the red carpet for Jack's Board House this weekend. ADDIKTs Jason Garza and Justin Shirley along w/Tyler,Ryan and TM Joey charged it and made the long drive from Medford to Visalia on Friday night. Saturday was Tulare/Visalia BY pools:

Tired of day care kidz, pedal-heads, scooters and fruit booters? For a couple Benjamins and a day or two of hard labor you could have one of these in your backyard (Gene Boles not included):

While backyard DIY doesn't come with the magnificent landscaping (i.e. iron bars), caring staff (i.e. pad nannies), human interaction (i.e. bumping into barneys) and diversity (BMX,scooters,and fruit booters all in one park? Awesome!!) found at your friendly neighborhood skatepark, I'm sure you'll make do....and try not to miss the little kid with his board in perma-tail-drop position right in the middle of your DIY saying over and over ,"you want me to go? you want me to go?".......

All My (Future) Children

In my mind, skateparks are like prostitutes: Good news is, you're gonna' get some - bad news is, you're gonna' have to pay for it...

"Paying for it" in this context means having to deal with a relentless onslaught of children whose douchebag parents think its OK to use a skatepark as a day care center and its somehow our responsibility to not only tolerate but actually take care of them. Gone are the days when skaters were few and far between because finding a good place to skate actually took some effort (and a willingness to break the law on occasion). Public skateparks have spawned a new breed of "day care skater" - armed only with a soccer mom with an Astro van (make sure thhose child restraints are fastened properly!), tots of every sort can now roll up, pad up and get their "extreme" on - just like on TV!!
Sadly this park was no exception - overrun with kids who should be home watching Nickelodeon instead of peppering me with questions. I have developed an effective way of dealing with this - as soon as I get two questions (Are you sponsored? Can you change my diaper?) I say, "I'm going to have to limit you to three questions today". This is usually followed by, "huh"? At which point I say "That's your third question" and skate off toward the opposite end of the park - that's where I found Scott Obradovich and Tom Knox getting some:


Sadly it wasn't long before the kids closed in again - I'm not going to say they drove me to drink, but next thing I knew I was here:

Crying in my beer and lamenting the sad state of affairs that is skateboarding these days. Every wall in the bar was covered in one dollar bills (Just "1" More, get it?) - the owner claimed she was saving them for her pending "breat augmentation" (I dunno - they looked fine to me).....I slapped an ADDIKT sticker on a George Washington and looked for a place to post up - that's when I saw this piece of art:

Another Day in the (Foreclosure) Neighborhood

Even when I'm just looking for homes (with my better half no less) I still find pools....this one just went into foreclosure next door to the place we were looking at - not even a sign on the lawn yet....popped my head over the fence and BAM! Blinded by the light....tried to sweet talk the wife into giving this place the thumbs up instead of the one she picked out, but it looks like the Brady Bunch just moved out (or maybe they're still living in the 7' deep orange shag carpet in the den) - unless someone wants to relive the 70's don't think this one is going to get sold anytime soon - should give us just enough time to get it drained and roll around for a while - c'mon up! Just head for the SW corner of the Mojave Desert and you're getting warm......
